Alexander Toshev is a Research Scientist at Google Robotics working on visual robot navigation and visual recognition for autonomous agents. Prior to this, Alexander has worked on a wide range of core computer vision problems, such as human pose estimation, object detection, image captioning. Some of his work was used in major Google products such as Google Photos and Google Shopping.

Alexander holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Computer and Information Sciences from University of Pennsylvania and Dipl.-Inf. from University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He has served as Program Committee member for CVPR, ECCV and ICCV, and Area Chair for CVPR 2017.
