Here in Amsterdam, we work on machine learning, in particular algorithmic foundations and theory of deep learning, generative modelling and reinforcement learning with applications involving natural language processing, (3D) computer vision, data compression and computational biology. We work closely with academics at local universities as well as collaborators at local institutes with a goal to impact general scientific progress. We accomplish this through publishing our findings, offering outreach programs for faculty and students to work alongside Googlers and releasing open source tools.
Researchers in our Amsterdam office push the boundaries of what is possible in deep learning and AI with regards to foundations and large-scale applications both on familiar benchmarks and in novel domains. These domains include language understanding, computer vision and audio, reinforcement learning and machine learning for the natural sciences.
